I started writing these sweet little letters back when my oldest was a newborn. I continued it up until my second oldest was a few months old. Life got busy. Life got full.
Surprisingly, so many of these letters to my little ones are being seen through google search. I’m not sure what you’re searching to see this and to stumble upon my little plot of internet, but welcome. I am now a mom of 4 beautiful children. And life is so amazing with these littles.
My oldest, who is in the original letters, is now 8 at this time. He is smart, caring, and helpful. He truly takes on the ‘oldest sibling’ role and he does it in stride. He helps me when my cup is overflowing and he never complains. I am forever grateful that he was sent to be my oldest child.
Recently, he has gotten more and more into Pokemon and video games. But I find it so sweet how he is always telling me and talking to me about it. I don’t fully understand everything he tells me, but I cherish all of his thoughts and excitement. Little one, you have grown so much and I’m so proud of who you are.
My second oldest, who is also in the original letters, is now 5 almost 6 at the time of this writing! She is beautiful and full of life and joy. When I describe her, I always say that she is FULL. She loves hard and she hates hard. Her emotions are strong. She is strong. One day, she will conquer anything she sets her mind to. But for now, I have to witness the stubborness daily. I can’t say I’m surprised by her, though, I am the EXACT SAME WAY!
She just recently started school and I have already seen her grow in ways that seemed impossible a few weeks ago. She is maturing and learning new things daily. And I for one am so happy to witness all this growth. She is so loving and I love the girl she is becoming.
My 3rd oldest is a wild child. He will turn 3 in a few short months! He is always doing something and never still! We call him our ‘class clown’. He is always trying to make us laugh. If he realizes something makes us laugh, he does it over and over again. I love witnessing his sweet little personality come out more and more. He is starting to talk a whole bunch more and I will randomly hear him say, “I love you , mom”. Which, of course, makes my heart explode.
Our sweet youngest and 4th child is almost a year old! Where does the time go? She has hit so many milestones the past few months and we love seeing her explore the world for the first time and learn new things. She is my snuggle bug and will always give me a hug when I need one. She is definitely a mama’s girl right now, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I’m desperately holding onto this thing called childhood. Somehow, it feels like it’s slipping away and before I know it, they will be grown and out of my house. I cherish the rough days, and rejoice in the happy days. These days of them being young will not last forever, and I for one am excited to see where they go in life.
