Take a Picture Everyday

I talked about goals in my last post. This year, I have a goal of taking a picture everyday. Among photographers this is called a 365. Taking a picture everyday seems daunting. So, instead of giving myself rules and guidelines to follow, I’m not. It’s going to be a loose 365. If I miss a day, I miss a day. If I substitute a picture I took a different day for that day, so be it. If I use a cell phone pic, that’s fine! In my mind, shooting 3 times a week is better than none. I’m also not going to stress about editing. I might even procrastinate that till the weekend. I will attempt to post a blog post every week, or every 2 weeks, of my pictures in my 365. The point of this project is to get better everyday. To stretch my mind. To make myself happy, because photography does that for me. 🙂 I am excited to test this out. If it doesn’t work out, I’m not going to beat myself up over it.

Here’s to my loose 365.

I am a photographer, a wife, a sister, and now a momma to be. I strive to capture the beauty in ordinary things. I love to photograph people, places, and things that I love and cherish. I am a lover of natural light, macro, lifestyle, and dark and moody images. I am a die hard Nikon fan, I love yellow starbursts, I am a pianist, and I am obsessed with photography, maybe a little too much!

  1. I think you are off to a beautiful start! I completely agree that a loose 365 is the way to go–if I set a bunch of rigid rules and expectations, I end up quitting. When I allowed myself some grace, I had no problem finishing a 365. Of course, it took me 13 months instead of 12–but I shot (almost) every day and made HUGE leaps in my photography journey, so I am totally proud of my project. Good luck over the next year, I look forward to seeing what you produce!
